Question

John, Bob, and Charlie live together in a hut near the forest and shares everything equally.
One day John brings 5 logs of wood, Bob brings 3 logs of wood, but Charlie didn't make able to bring any...
After they have collected their woods, they use it to cook together and share the food.
Since Charlie has not brought any wood, he gives $8 instead of his contribution.

Now, the question is: Out of $8, how much will he give to A and how much to B?

The Equal Contribution Of Wood | Puzzle 21 | Puzzle Orbit

Solution

Total wood is 5+3=8.
So, every person consumed 8/3 logs of wood.
John gave 5 - (8/3) = 7/3 logs of wood to Charlie.
Bob gave 3 - (8/3) = 1/3 logs of wood to Charlie.

So, out of $8, John gets $7 and Bob gets $1
