Question
You are given an amount of ₹1000 of ₹1 Coin (1000 coins of ₹1) and 10 pouches.
Now, you have to put the given coins on the given pouches in such a manner that if someone asks you for any amount between ₹1 to ₹1000, you should easily be able to give the amount by just giving the pouches.
Note: You are not allowed to open pouches for that. You have to complete pouch resulting the amount.
So, how will you do it?
Solution
We will divide the coins into the pouches in the exponential power of 2 starting from 0.
1st Bag = 1 Coin
2nd Bag = 2 Coins
3rd Bag = 4 Coins
4th Bag = 8 Coins
5th Bag = 16 Coins
6th Bag = 32 Coins
7th Bag = 64 Coins
8th Bag = 128 Coins
9th Bag = 256 Coins
10th Bag = Remaining Coins : 489(1000-511).
Now think of any amount and guess what?... You will find that you can give any amount just by using the pouches without even opening them.
