There were two friends Amit and Anil. They are quite strange in making statements. One of them always lies on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and tells the truth on all other days of the week while the other lies on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and tells the truth on other days of the week.
Today at 3 PM, they made following statements,
Amit: I lie on Saturdays.
Anil: I will lie tomorrow.
Amit: I lie on Sundays.
Can you find out, Today is which day of the week?
Solution
Wednesday.
As, No one lies on Sunday, so Amit is lying.
This means today is not Sunday. Also now we have been known that Amit lies today,
so "Amit: I lie on Saturdays" is also a lie.
Therefore, today is not sturdy and can one of Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Now we know Anil is telling the truth, therefore for the statement "Anil: I will lie tomorrow." true today has to be Wednesday.
